Show #40: Making finance exciting through podcasts: An interview with Michael Seaton of Scotiabank

Themoneyclippodcast
Are you curious to know how one of North America’s leading financial institutions became involved in podcasting, and what they expect to gain from it? Then listen to this interview with Michael Seaton, director of Digital Marketing at Scotiabank in Toronto.

Michael is no stranger to social media. He writes a blog called The Client Side, contributes to other marketing blogs, and is a regular voice on Joseph Jaffe’s Across the Sound podcast.

In this 15-minute podcast, you’ll hear Michael talk about how the idea for the Money Clip podcast came about, how it’s produced, and plans for the future. By the way, I met Michael at the Third Tuesday Toronto meetup last month, where I also chatted with Shel Israel, who will be my guest on the Trafcom News Podcast next week.

You can download the show right here or subscribe through iTunes.

Here are the show notes:
00:01 Intro and welcome

10:45 Pet peeve #5: Ted Baxter-itis, where the podcaster likes his own voice a little too much

12:30 Pet peeve #7: Too much background noise or static
13:55 Pet peeve #8: Daffy Duck Syndrome; is this caused by poor audio quality or non-standard sampling rates?

::UPDATE Yes, I see the exquisite irony in the mixing problem in parts of this show. I am trying to resolve it. Sallie, we should tell people this is deliberate!
::UPDATE 2 Problem solved. I've uploaded a new file sans mixing snafus. Apologies to those who may have experienced podcast stereosis listening to the earlier version!
