Here’s what can happen when you skimp on copy editing
I admit it. I cringe when reading novels or non-fiction riddled with errors. (I find it hard to ignore spelling and grammatical bloopers on menus, too, but that’s another story.)
Lesson: allow time and money in your project for editing and proofing!

Good point. I find that books printed in the past year have a lot of typos, especially business books that are put together quickly. I figured it was just a sign of the times, in which we value speed over accuracy.

Sloppy copy editing is a scourge IMO, yet it doesn't seem to bother many people.

The same thing applies to all business. It's always less expensive to do it right than it is to do it over.
