My latest podcast is an interview with Hugh McGuire, founder of LibriVox, which offers free public-domain audio books. You'll find this 22-minute podcast on the Trafcom News Podcast page. Hugh and I discuss the origins of LibriVox; the concept of volunteer readers; the availability of multiple versions of these public-domain books; and how LibriVox is a good place for budding voiceover artists and podcasters to learn. We also explore the potential broader applications of this type of project.
Listen and then let me know what you think!

Donna, I have listened to Trafcom News since you began and it remains one of my favourite podcasts. I run a consultancy on alcohol policy, and your tips on pushing the social media agenda are really useful. The people in my world are just about getting to grips with blogs, let alone podcasting, but I try my best to fly the flag!
I was delighted to hear from Hugh McGuire because a while ago I came across LibriVox and got totally caught up in their version of Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities - absolutely loved it.
In fact, it inspired me to start reading out loud with my partner, and we have enjoyed a number of books together since then.
LibriVox have a podcast feed, but it doesn't seem to include the whole catalogue, so I've missed a lot of their output. Thanks to your podcast, I've gone back to the website and helped myself to some more goodies.
Thanks for what you do Donna.

G'day gorgeous!
How weird is this? I know three Canadian women - all three have black hair, all three are gorgeous. Two of the three originate from the US...
Weird or WHAT?!?
Anyway... I've just launched an information site on audio books -- NewBookOnAudio.com -- so I'll add Librivox to the relevant pages.
Cheers,
Lee
