I’m posting this on the off chance that some of you haven’t yet heard about Bum Rush the Charts, a movement to take an indie podsafe music artist to number one on the iTunes singles charts. The track is "Mine Again" by the band Black Lab. What's more, every commission made on the sale of "Mine Again" will be donated to college scholarships.

This is really interesting and I'm sure we'll all follow it closely.
I also recently came across a story about how a band received the funds necessary to record their first album through donations from people who had heard their music online and wanted them to have the chance to put out a full blown album.
