Centennial students make podcast debut
Some months ago, fellow IABC member Gary Schlee, who co-ordinates the Corporate Communications & Public Relations program at Centennial College in Toronto, invited me to speak to his class about podcasting. Not one to pass up the opportunity to share my passion, I agreed.
Well, the presentation was yesterday, amidst one of Toronto’s worst rainstorms. The atmosphere inside the classroom, however, was warm and the students were terrific. At the end of the session, borrowing a page from the Shel Holtz playbook, I invited them to record a podcast about a topic of their choosing. So right here, you can listen to the students’ most memorable travel tales.
Thanks to Gary for inviting me, to the volunteers who shared their stories, and to Omar Ha-Redeye, who very capably handled the microphone for the recording. (I suspect he will be podcasting very soon!)
Hi Donna,
Thanks again for providing this interactive experience for us.
I do intend to set up a podcast, but perhaps not as soon as you would anticipate. We will have to speak to Gary about easing up on the work load first.
For now, all of my energies are directed towards the [FRAME] Film Festival (www.framefilmfestival.net). We would like to see you there on Dec. 7 in Toronto.
Perhaps in the New Year you can expect some Technorati tags with my name on it.
Omar

Omar, it was great to meet you. Good luck with school and the film fest. Sorry I can't attend; I have a Christmas party.
I look forward to your podcast in the future!
