Wot’s this? An ad?
I’ve never carried an ad on my main blog or my podcast blog, mainly because I haven’t been inclined to take the time to seek a suitor. It just hasn’t been a priority.
But when the folks from CNW Group approached several Canadian PR/comms bloggers to conduct a three-month advertising experiment, I was happy to be included in the little group. So now, I’m carrying this ad on both my blogs. If you click through from my page, you'll see that the ad is a clever little game instead of a static graphic.
If you’re outside Canada, I should tell you that CNW Group is a well-regarded provider of newswire and other services to the PR industry. In a conference call with some of the bloggers the other day, Laurie Smith, Director of Marketing and Communications at CNW Group said: "We want to think beyond the ASCII of the newswire."
