For the last 20 years, I've been self-employed as a professional writer and editor with my company, Trafalgar Communications. On the corporate side, I write, edit and produce newsletters, blogs, articles, Web sites, speeches, marketing literature, audio and video scripts and much more. In the magazine world, my feature articles have appeared in health, business and women's publications in Canada and the U.S.
Over the last couple of years, I've been pursuing my interest in all things audio. I’ve studied the craft of voice-over, did some narrations for corporate videos, and now have moved into podcasting. I think this medium is going to transform corporate communications, marketing and PR. Lately I’ve been conducting Webinars for my clients, who have been growing more and more enthusiastic about such new media as blogs and podcasts. (Drop me a line if you’re interested in participating in a free Webinar.)
When I’m not working, I’m hanging out with (or more likely, driving) my two teen daughters, who are both gifted writers and all-around wonderful people (while still being teens, of course, with all the drama that entails). I try to maintain some semblance of balance in my life with regular workouts at the Y, walks along the beautiful lakeshore near my home, and time with friends. When my workload isn’t too heavy, I like to experiment in the kitchen and sometimes actually create something edible.
If you find something you like (or don’t like) in my blog, feel free to comment!
